SINGAPORE--Japanese mobile phone company NTT DoCoMo bagged top honors when it won three categories at the Internet World Asia Industry Awards 2001.

The titles were: Internet company of the year, killer application of the year (i-mode) and Internet visionary of the year (DoCoMo CEO Keichi Tachikawa).

The winners were announced at a gala dinner late last evening.

Unlike last year where Singapore firms dominated the awards, this time, it was Hong Kong's turn. Nine out of 15 winners came from the SAR.

Organized by Penton Media, the event is an annual affair to honor the contribution of individuals and companies to the Internet industry in Asia.
