ZDNet Asia is looking to recognize the top 50 businesses in Asia that have implemented IT to drive business efficiency and innovation, as well as create greater customer value.

Nominees must demonstrate that they have used IT to derive strategic business benefit in areas such as product/service innovation and improved customer service standards/response times.

Does ZDNet Asia intend to hand out other special awards?

In addition to the key Smart50 list, ZDNet Asia will be giving out special awards in these seven categories:
• Public Sector Technology Project of the Year
• Financial Services Technology Project of the Year
• Communications Project of the Year
• Supply Chain Management Project of the Year
• Project of the Year
• CIO of the Year
• SMB of the Year

Who is eligible to take part in the ZDNet Asia Smart50 Awards?

The ZDNetAsia Smart50 2006 Awards is open to all companies and government agencies in these Asian countries: Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India,
Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
However, special eligibility criteria apply to the special awards. For example, the Financial Services Technology Project of the Year is
open to related industries like banking, insurance and securities. And only projects that are rolled out or completed in 2005 will be considered.

Can I nominate my company?

Nominees will be required to provide more details as outlined in the official nomination form.
Nominations will be judged by the independent ZDNet Asia Smart50 counsel based on the information provided in the form.
You may also be required to submit further information upon request.

How much information should I reveal in the nomination form?

We encourage all nominees to detail as much as they can, so that judges will be able to make a well-informed decision.
If there is specific information that should be kept confidential (i.e. not to be published in the special report should your company emerge a winner), please indicate in the form accordingly. Each nomination will be treated in the strictest confidence.
