ANURAG AGRAWAL
Chief Operating Officer, AMI-Partners
Anurag Agrawal is the chief operating officer of Access Markets International (AMI) Partners, a consulting organization with offices in New York, Texas, California, India, Japan and Singapore. AMI-Partners specialises in emerging markets and technologies, actionable market intelligence and venture capital services, with specific focus on the global SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) market.
Agrawal has more than 18 years of experience in IT industry market research, strategic planning, management of research operations, industry sizing and forecast, demand and supply side integration, survey panels and international operations. Prior to AMI-Partners, he was the senior vice president of operations for Knowledge Networks, a consumer market intelligence company where he built a panel of over 100,000 households and developed a customer support organization.
Prior to Knowledge Networks, Agrawal was the vice president of worldwide research, for GartnerGroup, where he managed the Enterprise Software, Computer Hardware, Document Management and IT Services research practices. He also worked at IDC where he was in charged of worldwide research. At IDC, he was also the regional director for the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong. He was instrumental in setting up 13 country offices.
FRITZ CHIU
Principal Consultant, Information Technology Industry Development Division, Hong Kong Productivity Council
Fritz Chiu is also the center manager of the Hong Kong Software Industry Information Center (SIIC). Fritz has been serving Hong Kong's IT industry since 1985. In his current positions at the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the SIIC, Chiu's main duty is to execute the mandates of SIIC including providing marketing support to local IT companies, conducting IT-related market research and building partnership channels among vendors, universities and the Hong Kong government. Chiu is also responsible for large-scale IT exhibitions, various local and regional conferences, and mainland and overseas study missions.
Since 2000, Chiu has also been involved in the Hong Kong IT Excellence Awards organized by the Hong Kong Computer Society and the Hong Kong Industry Award (Technology Achievement Category) organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks. Chiu was also the project manager of the Asia Pacific ICT Awards 2004, which was held in Hong Kong.
Chiu has also served as an exco-member of IEEE (Hong Kong Section Computer Chapter) from 1998 to 2003; vice-chairman of IEEE (Hong Kong Section Computer Chapter) since 2004; and an organizing committee member of the Hong Kong International Computer Conference from 1994 to 2005. He serves as an advisor to the Information and Software Industry Association and the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association. Chiu also sits on the ICT Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Creative Industry Advisory Committee of the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
STEPHANIE GAULT
Partner, Human Performance, ASEAN and Singapore, Accenture
Stephanie Gault specializes in helping organizations improve the performance of their people, and also has extensive experience in the formulation and implementation of large scale change programs. Her experience also includes the design and execution of human capital programs, including strategy development, policy and process designs, and systems implementation.
Gault has more than 16 years' experience working with large organizations and governments in Asia and the United States. Some of her recent experiences include developing a human capital strategy for a large government organization on the transformation of their workforce; designing a blueprint for a large-scale human capital and workforce transformation program, and leading the change program as part of an organizationwide transformation program at a large organization.
She is a frequent speaker at conferences, and has been featured in various newspaper and publication articles.
LAURA THANT THEANG HO
Head of Cyberlaws, Multimedia Development Corporation, Malaysia
Laura Thant Theang Ho was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1993 and currently serves as the head of cyberlaws with the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDC), a company established by the Government of Malaysia for the coordination, development and promotion of ICT industry and selected services in the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) and Malaysia.
Since joining the MDC in 2001, Ho's responsibilities include advising the relevant government ministries and agencies on a range of policies and legal issues relating to the development of the Cyberlaws and Intellectual Property framework, towards the fulfillment of the MSC Bill of Guarantees. Among other things, she has been involved in the discussions/developments relating to Harmonisation of ASEAN e-commerce legal infrastructure, Electronic Government Activities Bill, Electronic Transaction Bill, piracy, censorship, patentability of computer-implemented business methods, transfer of personal data and online dispute resolution mechanism. Ho is also responsible for the planning and organization of a number of programmes with a view towards positioning MDC's role in the overall development of cyberlaws and intellectual property. These include the 2003 Cyberlaws Workshop in Myanmar that the MDC co-organized with the Myanmar's AG's Chambers; the MSC International Cyberlaws Conference in 2004 with the Malaysian Bar Council, key government agencies and universities; the 2005 Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Forensics Workshop with the Royal Malaysia Police and Microsoft.
She has extensive experience in the preparation and negotiation of ICT and commercial contracts, having negotiated and advised on numerous agreements. Ho holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Bristol (UK) and an LLM from the University of Cambridge (UK). She is also a Barrister-at-law (England and Wales) at Grays Inn and an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
ANURAG KHANNA
Managing Director and CEO, Banknet India
Anurag Khanna has more than two decades of working experience in the Indian financial sector. He began his banking career as a probationary officer with the State Bank of India where he gained experience in several aspects of banking and served in other positions including a branch manager.
Khanna has also served as a vice president at Fuji Bank in Mumbai where he helped set up its first branch in India. His main focus in the banking career has been in the areas of business promotion, corporate banking, credit and international finance. Khanna headed Fuji Bank's Corporate Finance in India, which included overseas lending, syndicated cross border deals, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures in coordination with the Singapore and Tokyo offices.
Regarded as an authority on banking, BPO and banking technology issues, Khanna has led Banknet India from conceptualization to making it a major brand in the banking and IT industry. Banknet India develops content and research specific to banking as well as the IT-BPO industry. Banknet India also organizes highly focused banking conferences and workshops, which provide a platform for knowledge sharing and networking for senior banking and IT professionals.
TRITOS LAOSIRIHONGTHONG
Assistant Professor, Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, Thailand
Tritos Laosirihongthong obtained his PhD in the Management of Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 2002. Since 2003, he has served as the faculty associate (manufacturing strategy and supply chain management) at the Thomas Walter Center of Technology Management (TWC), Auburn University, Alabama, USA. He is also a visiting professor at the School of Management, AIT (Bangkok, and Vietnam Center). In 2005, he was invited to be an associate member at the Center of SME Research and Development, University of Wollongong, Australia.
His research interests include the management of technology and innovation, international manufacturing/operations strategy and competitiveness, and logistics and supply chain management. His research has been published in both national refereed journals (Thammasat International Journal of Science and Technology, KMUTT Research and Development Journal) and international refereed journals (TECHNOVATION, International Journal of Business Performance Management, Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management, International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, Journal of Manufacturing Systems, and Journal of Applied Business Research).
Professionally, he is an International Registered Certified Lead Auditor (IRCA, UK) for ISO9001: 2000 Standard, ISO/TS-16949 (for the Automotive Industry), and on the Board of Examiners for the Asia-Pacific Business Excellent Standard (APBEST) Award.
GRAEME PHILIPSON
Hi-Tech Writer and Analyst
Graeme Philipson is an independent analyst and writer specializing in IT industry trends. Much of Graeme's market research work was done at Strategic Research, which was the research arm of Strategic Publishing Group, the publishing company he co-founded in 1992. Graeme was also formerly the Asia-Pacific Research Director for Gartner which acquired Strategic Research in 1996.
With 20 years of industry experience, Philipson is one of Asia-Pacific's best known and most respected technology market researchers, speakers and journalists. In the last two years he has spoken at over two dozen conferences in the Asia-Pacific region, including several keynote presentations. He frequently appears on radio and TV as a commentator on computers, and has conceived, promoted and chaired many major seminars and conferences in the areas of IT management, technology futures, telecommunications and biotech.
He has written over 1,000 articles and columns on technology and management for many publications around the world. He has published three books and more than 30 market research reports on the international IT industry. He is attempting to write more books on various subjects. Philipson has a BA in Political Science and Modern History from the University of New England, and lives in Wollongong, Australia.
QUAH SIEW HENG
Managing Director, Atos Origin ASEAN
Quah Siew Heng is the managing director of Atos Origin ASEAN, a global consulting and IT services provider with close to 46,000 people in about 40 countries. He has overall responsibilities for the ASEAN region, with focus on charting the strategic direction for the business and managing new IT services business development. He has achieved significant results by doubling the size and profitability of Atos Origin ASEAN in the last five years.
Prior to joining Atos Origin in June 1997, Quah was the services business executive at IBM Singapore where had responsibilities for all services business including product support services, network services, SI services and outsourcing services. His other previous assignments in IBM included the roles of ASEAN manager for the healthcare industry and marketing manager for government and healthcare accounts.
Quah holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from the National University of Singapore. He has also attended several executive courses in leading business schools, like Harvard Business School, Thunderbird School of Business and Stanford University School of Business.
VICTOR LIM
Vice President, Business Development Verticals, IDC Asia/Pacific
Victor Lim has more than 10 years of experience as a manager and a
consultant in a broad spectrum of industries ranging from transportation,
financial services, manufacturing, oil & gas, biotechnology to IT.
As Vice President of Business Development--Verticals, Lim is
responsible for developing IDC’s industry vertical business in the
Asia-Pacific. He leads IDC's vertical business in the Asia-Pacific region by driving
research-based programs to assist vendor clients in industry segmentation,
opportunity assessment and go-to-market strategies. His team also provides
CIOs and line-of-business managers with technology-related market
intelligence to assist companies in developing their IT strategies,
assessing IT investment and returns, and business performance benchmarking.
Lim works closely with the IDC Financial Insights, Manufacturing
Insights and Government Insights team to develop programs that meet the
specific needs of clients in these sectors.
Lim has wide experience advising and providing support to senior
managers in multinational companies with strategic planning, business
development, mergers and acquisition planning and implementation,
business/financial analysis, organizational re-engineering and
operational/process improvements.
Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore with a First
Class Honors degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He also has an MBA from
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Business.
STAN SINGH
Senior Vice President of MUI dotcom and a councilor member, PIKOM
Stan Singh is the Senior Vice President of MUI dotCom Sdn Bhd, a member of The MUI Group. He is also the head of the group's IT Services. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from U.K. and he has attended various series of Management Strategic courses over the last 20 years. He has 27 years of experience in IT, and 18 years in business at operations and management levels. His business exposure spans a variety of industries, including hotel and property, retail, manufacturing, and finance.
In the IT industry, Singh's experience covers several areas including systems integration and application design, application design specification, programming, project management, user and corporate training and IT security consultation. Singh is currently also a member of the British Institute of Management and a councilor member of PIKOM (Persatuan Industri Komputer dan Multimedia Malaysia - Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia). He is also the current chairman of two SIG (Special Interest Group) of Open Source and Business Continuity. Over the last seven years, Singh has spoken at several conferences and seminars in areas such as supply chain management, IT corporate performance measures, IT security, business continuity, and knowledge management.
