SINGAPORE--Local carrier StarHub says it will begin selling Apple's iPhone before the end of the year, becoming the last of the country's three mobile operators to do so.
In a brief statement Monday, StarHub said it signed an agreement to offer iPhone to its customers later this year, along with "a range of tailored service plans".
The carrier added that more information on pricing, tariffs and availability will be released in due course.
StarHub follows in the footsteps of competitors SingTel, the first local operator to ink a deal with Apple and has been selling the iPhone since August 2008, and MobileOne (M1), which only last month announced plans to distribute the phone later this year.
According to stats from ICT regulator Infocomm Development Authority, Singapore's mobile penetration clocked in at 130.6 percent, as of June 2009.
In the company's last quarter ended Jun. 27, Apple sold 5.2 million iPhone units, a 626 percent climb from the previous year.
