Vodafone sells shares worth 3.5 billion pounds

News Vodafone Group Plc said it sold about 3.5 billion pounds (US$5.02 billion) of new shares to help pay for stakes in Japan Telecom Co and Spain's Airtel SA, which it is buying from British Telecommunications Plc.
