Reviews HTC's Touch Pro fixes many of the problems with the Touch Diamond and adds a superb keyboard. It remains neat and compact, while battery life is improved (if still not perfect).

HTC Advantage X7510
Reviews Although it has a number of attractive features, we can't recommend the Advantage X7510 as a replacement for either a notebook computer or a conventional smartphone. It's also expensive if viewed as an adjunct to either device.

T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream)
Reviews The design isn't great and we'd have liked some additional features, but the real beauty of the T-Mobile G1 is the Google Android platform, as it has the potential to make smartphones more personal and powerful. It's not quite there yet, so for now the G1 is best suited for early adopters rather than business users.

HTC Touch HD
Reviews Although the Touch HD's 3.8in. display makes it big and difficult to pocket, it also makes data-rich activities like web browsing much more rewarding than they are on smaller devices.

Reviews Although the Nokia N97 is packed with features, its clunky touch interface, sky-high price tag and outdated operating system make it hard to recommend when there are better touch-screen smartphones on the market.

Acer Tempo M900
Reviews We like the Acer M900's large 3.8in. screen, but its slide-out QWERTY keyboard is less successful. Acer's Shell user interface may not appeal to all, but the fingerprint reader is welcome.

HTC Hero
Reviews The Android platform has come of age in the Hero. HTC's Sense interface is superbly implemented, the device itself is intuitive to use, and the software is largely well thought-out. We'd have liked more internal memory, longer battery life and a better camera though.
