Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T1010

Reviews The LifeBook T1010 is a distinctive-looking, if somewhat bulky, 13.3in. Tablet PC with decent specs and reasonable performance. If you're picky about keyboards, you should love this notebook.

Samsung Q210

Samsung Q210

Reviews Samsung's Q210 is a trendy-looking 12.1in. notebook with appeal beyond its nominal consumer niche. It's an excellent performer with a great keyboard and plenty of wireless options.

Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S6420

Reviews The LifeBook S6420 combines portability, 3G support and an integrated webcam, and supports an optional second battery in the optical drive bay. Although we have a few gripes, it's a good choice for the mobile professional.

Dell Latitude XT2

Reviews The Dell Latitude XT2's key feature is its largely successful multi-touch capability. Build quality is excellent, but the absence of an integrated optical drive is a nuisance and battery life is disappointing.

Toshiba Portégé M700-110

Reviews The Portégé M700-110 is a generally solid 12.1in. convertible Tablet PC with a nice dual-mode touch-screen. It's a good choice for Tablet PC fans; if you need HSDPA or a webcam, it's a relatively small step up to the 3G11F model.

Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook E8410

Reviews The LifeBook E8410 benefits from a large, high-resolution screen and integrated 3G/HSDPA connectivity. The USB ports could be better positioned though.

HP Compaq 6720s

Reviews The 6720s is a budget business notebook that could fit the bill if you don't need serious CPU or graphics power, and are likely to spend most of your time in the office rather than on the road.

HP Compaq 2710p

Reviews The HP Compaq 2710p stands out by virtue of its stylish design. It's not the lightest ultraportable, though, and many mobile professionals will want to specify the 3G option. The lack of an optical drive and a touchpad may also bother some potential buyers.

Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T5010

Reviews The Fujitsu Siemens T5010 is a well-made convertible Tablet PC with a sturdy casing and a comfortable keyboard. It's a little heavy for extended use in tablet mode, but benefits from a 13.3in. screen and decent performance.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52

Reviews The Toughbook CF-52 is a solidly built 'semi-ruggedised' notebook, with a hardened outer casing, shock-mounted hard disk and covered ports. However, this 3.3kg system isn't the most portable of notebooks and its battery life falls a long way short of Panasonic's claims.

Toshiba Satellite Pro U300

Reviews The U300 is available in a wide range of configurations, making it a flexible option. The build quality could be better in places and the keyboard is distinctly spongy. It's a good performer, though, and nicely designed.

Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S6410

Reviews The LifeBook S6410 offers a good combination of functionality and performance in a stylish ultraportable form factor. We particularly like the integrated 3G connectivity and the webcam, although there are also one or two let-downs.

Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook P7230

Reviews The LifeBook P7230 isn't the most stylish of ultraportables and we have a few minor niggles, but overall it performs very solidly indeed.

HP Compaq 8710p

Reviews If a large desktop replacement notebook is what you're after, the HP Compaq 8710p has an excellent 17in. display, a powerful discrete graphics module, plenty of connectivity and a spacious keyboard.
