Asus Eee PC 901
Reviews The Eee PC 901 is better than its predecessor, the 900. It looks nicer, has a faster, more efficient CPU and better battery life. It's larger and 100g heavier and its keyboard is still too small for our liking, but in many ways it's the pick of the 'netbook' litter.

GETAC B300
Reviews Like many seriously rugged notebooks, the B300 is an expensive piece of kit. We particularly like the 'sunlight readable' screen option and touch-screen capability, although its 4:3 aspect ratio makes this 13.3in. notebook seem a little dated.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9
Reviews Dell's entry into the Netbook market means it's time to take these low-cost, low-power PCs seriously. The Inspiron Mini 9 is an excellent example of the form, if not radically different from the competition.

Asus Eee PC 900

Intel Classmate PC
Reviews Aimed at students in developing countries, the Intel Classmate PC is an intriguing attempt at a low-cost notebook. We love the rugged design, but the small 2GB solid-state hard drive doesn't leave a lot of room for growth.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52
Reviews The Toughbook CF-52 is a solidly built 'semi-ruggedised' notebook, with a hardened outer casing, shock-mounted hard disk and covered ports. However, this 3.3kg system isn't the most portable of notebooks and its battery life falls a long way short of Panasonic's claims.

Asus Eee PC 1000
Reviews The Eee PC 1000 is a fabulous machine. It precariously straddles the line between netbook and ultraportable, but it's well equipped, well designed and great for anyone requiring a highly portable notebook.
