You can arrange to receive reports via e-mail to alert you of specific activity on the file server(s) in your environment. You can find and configure the options for managing the settings for file screening reports in the File Server Management Console’s File Server Resource Management node.

1. Right-click the File Server Resource Management object and click Actions.
2. Click Configure Options.

Using the tabs in the Options dialog box, you can configure the settings for storage reports, including e-mail delivery and report locations.

Reports available for your use with Windows Server 2003 file screening are:

• Incident reports -- These reports are automatically generated when the action occurs. The reports alert you when an action happens.
• Scheduled reports -- These reports are configured to run on a schedule.
• On-demand reports -- These reports are generated upon request.

Tabs used in the configuration of reporting include:

• E-Mail Notifications -- The setting for the SMTP server used to send notifications, including the server name, default administrative recipient, and from address.
• Storage Reports -- A list of configurable reports available for delivery.
• Report Locations -- The locations on the server where the on-demand storage reports live.

When configuring the e-mail settings for reports, specify the name of your SMTP server and other mail options on the E-Mail Notifications tab. To ensure that the e-mail settings you have configured work as expected, click the Test E-Mail button.

On the Storage Reports tab, you can adjust the parameters used to execute the report by performing the following actions:

1. Click the Storage Reports tab.
2. Select the report you wish to view or modify.
3. Click the Review Reports button.
4. To change the parameters tied to the report, select the Edit Parameters button.
5. Click OK to save or click Close to discard any changes you've made to the report parameters.
