Our client is looking to bring on a DBA on a 6 month contract to hire basis here in Indianapolis. The need has been created as a new position due to the fact that they have 5 developers on site that have been splitting the DBA duties and the Database work has been getting backlogged because no one is truly focusing on it. The right person would be joining a team of 10 people including 5 developers (.Net and VB6), 1 PM, 2 EDI and Data Analysts. The right candidate will mainly be doing SQL 2000 database administration, design and modeling as well as maintenance of some applications developed in VB6. They could also be involved with some new development in .net in the future. The position will consist of about 75% SQL DBA work and 25% applications support and development. On a daily basis the person will be responsible for: -Keeping all servers up to day -Streamlining DTS packages -Creating and automating reports and queries. The candidate must have: -SQL Sever 2000, 2003 and 2005 experience.
