Established in 1987, Satyam Computer Services is making waves in not only the Indian IT services scene but across the globe in 54 other countries.
The new entrant to ZDNet Asia's Top Tech 50 list employs over 30,000 IT professionals in development centers in India, Australia, Canada, China, Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.
The company made significant achievements over the course of 2006. Not only was it named second in the 50 best managed global outsourcing vendors at the Black Book of Outsourcing study in July, it also beat its more experienced India peers, such as Infosys and Tata Consulting Services, to lead the pack of IT services providers in Asia.
Satyam also made significant investments in the region--the company partnered Microsoft to launch two testing and development centers in Shanghai and Singapore, and also strengthened its business continuity and disaster recovery center in Singapore as a replicate of the main global control facility in Hyderabad.
Its latest financial results indicate that Q2 revenues jumped 39 percent over the previous year, buoyed by wins such as a 10-year contract over 10 years with an Indian commercial bank. Valued at US$30 million, the deal will see Satyam implement a core banking system, and data center and disaster recovery center.
This company is listed in Software Infrastructure, Business Applications, Services.
