Headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., CSC provides systems design and integration, IT and business process outsourcing, applications software development, Web and application hosting, and management consulting.

Over the years, CSC has continued to clinch major outsourcing contracts with some of the biggest names in the public and commercial sectors across the globe. Its clients include Sun Microsystems and China Pacific Property Insurance Company. However, competition from the Indian services providers continue to nip at its heels.

In January, rumors surfaced that CSC was an acquisition target of private equity firm Blackstone Group, with rival Hewlett-Packard taking an interest in a minority stake. But the buy did not materialize.

CSC ranks among ZDNet Asia's Top 10 fastest-growing companies for 2006/07.
