Headquartered in Finland, Nokia manufactures 10 phones every second and enjoys tremendous brand recognition globally.

The handset giant made strides in its enterprise business over the year. According to research analyst Gartner, it is the worldwide market leader for both PDAs and smart phones, contributing to 42 percent of PDA and smart-phone sales in the first half of 2006. Driving its efforts in smart devices is the S60 platform, which sits in some 70 million devices shipped across the world.

In June, Nokia and Siemens announced the formation of Nokia Siemens Networks, a merger of the two players' network businesses.

More recently, Nokia has also teamed up with communications player Alcatel to integrate IP fixed-line functionalities with Nokia's E-series phones.

This company is listed in Software Infrastructure, Business Applications, Networking & Communications, Security, Services.
