Canon


Canon may be the world's largest digital camera maker, but it also offers a range of enterprise-class products including document imaging software.

Established in 1937, Canon is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and employs 174,698 people worldwide.

The imaging and optical products maker's business includes cameras, photocopiers and computer printers.

In November, Canon announced plans to postpone the construction of a US$1 billion toner cartridge components plant in Japan by six months. However, the Japanese tech giant said that its plan to invest some 60 billion yen (US$642 million) in a toner cartridge plant in the state of Virginia, the United States, remains on schedule.

Recently, Canon reported a 21 percent year-on-year dip in net profit for the third quarter, which ended Sep. 30, to 83.04 billion yen (US$888.5 million). It also revised down its full-year profit forecasts by about 23 percent from a year ago to 375 billion yen (US$4 billion).
