Blue Coat Systems


With a new global service center (GSC) launched in Malaysia in August this year, Blue Coat Systems is poised for greater growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The new Kuala Lumpur-based facility is now the company's second-largest office.

According to Matt Young, vice president of Asia-Pacific sales for Blue Coat Systems, the Asia-Pacific region is the company's fastest growing region, and it plans to double its current headcount of 50 people in Malaysia by the end of 2008.

Founded in 1996, Blue Coat is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. It makes appliances and software to help organizations secure Web communications and accelerate delivery of business applications, such as proxy servers, WAN optimization and SSL VPN.

Blue Coat has some 8,000 customers in more than 50 countries around the world.

Blue Coat Systems ranks among ZDNet Asia's Top 10 fastest-growing companies for 2008/2009.
