UOB banks on economic downturn

Susan Hwee, vice president of IT operations at United Overseas Bank, discusses how the bank tapped new opportunities during financial crisis to reengineer its operations and improve its call center efficiencies by 25 percent. Hwee, who joined the bank in 2001 when it merged with Overseas Union Bank, also offers up advice for IT administrators going through similar company mergers, stressing the need to "integrate first, reengineer later".
