According to Microsoft's Technet Website, "There is no Upgrade option available when installing Windows 7 on a computer running Windows XP. The task involves using Windows Easy Transfer to migrate files and settings from Windows XP to Windows 7 on the same computer. To do this one must first copy files to a removable media, such as an external hard drive or UFD, or to a network share. Then, one will need to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on their existing hardware, migrate the files back from the removable media or network location and then onto the computer. When one has finished, they must install the software programs again, but the files and settings will have been copied from Windows XP.

The goal of this white paper is to explore and resolve common concerns and issues surrounding a migration of development environment from IBM's Rational Application Developer (RAD) to MyEclipse Blue Edition from Genuitec. Why might a company choose to migrate their development tools? If the migration is decided upon, how would this be done easily and effectively? This paper will answer these common types of questions, as well as explore any intangibles that may arise during the decision and implementation process. In the following scenarios and discussion, it uses IBM Rational Application Developer as an example of a "Current" tool, and MyEclipse Blue Edition as a "New" tool being migrated to.

This white paper covers transitioning from an SGLX cluster consisting of physical and VMware guests to an RHCS cluster. It is assumed that there is an existing SGLX cluster consisting of at least one VMware guest as a cluster node. The conversion can be done by completing the basic cluster migration based on the earlier white paper, but with a new fencing agent for the VMware guests.

This whitepaper covers transitioning from an SGLX XEN Toolkit to an RHCS cluster?? It is assumed that there is an existing SGLX cluster running at least one instance of a Xen Toolkit package. A step-by-step process describes how to use the configuration information from a Xen Toolkit package on an existing SGLX cluster to quickly create a Xen RHCS service (a collection of resources) with similar functionality.

Before one uses MAP to assess the readiness of desktop computers for a migration to Windows 7, one needs to make sure they can be assessed. The great thing about MAP is that it is agent less, which means that do not need to deploy a software agent to each desktop machine that want to assess.
